. Mary Lacey, head of the income board at Woking Hospice, left, receives a cheque The quiz was so popular that Sister Ann Board invited participants to her home in Engliff Lane, Pyrford, and held the quiz in a marquee in her garden. Oakcroft manager Vivien Grieve said: “Staff and friends paid £10 for the general knowledge quiz and a fish and chip supper. It was a great evening and a real social event. Staff from Woking Hospice are exceptionally supportive to us and our residents and with our nurse training.” The home has already donated £1,350 raised at the quiz to the hospice and last week BUPA matched the amount raised by the staff. Ann was invited to present the healthcare organisation’s cheque for £1,350 to Mary Lacey at the hospice. Ann said: “As our local hospice, we decided Woking Hospice would be a good cause for donations.
