Perfect pearl party for Pyrford
. Happy 30th birthday for the Pyrford Daisy Tuffen flower club The club regularly meets at Pyrford village hall and enjoyed special flower arranging demonstrations and then tucked into supper. Chairman Carol Fuller said: “One of our original members Tricia Tullett attended the evening. We had three demonstrations given by Maureen Hanlon, who is the vice-chairman of Surrey National Association of Flower Arranging Societies, Sheila Banks and Carol Ransome. “The demonstrations were all based on the pearl anniversary theme.” Members enjoyed a buffet supper of chicken in honey mustard, quiche and salads, which had been organised by the committee. Afterwards, the group enjoyed a delicious dessert of caramel oranges with chocolate meringue. Sally Birmingham donated a cake, which was topped with sugar flowers made by Dalony Potts. Mrs Fuller said: “We had an extremely good evening and lots of people asked if we would be having a supper again.” New members are always welcome to the club and the theme for the next meeting on September 11 will be Ikebana — Japanese flower arranging. The club has regular demonstrations and occasional workshops. For more information or to join, call 01932 342988.
