Woking fire crews rushed to the scene at 2.50pm. Martin Newman, officer in charge, said: “The man was on his boat and was decanting fuel out of tanks on the boat into fuel canisters. “When he was flushing the last dregs of the fuel out, it ignited, blowing him out of the boat into the water. He hit another boat as he fell. “He was lucky. The explosion blew out the windows of the boat. The man had a bump to his head and was slightly shocked. He took himself to hospital.
