Byfleet councillor Daniel Todd to stand down

Cllr Todd told the News and Mail: “I have done my four-year stint and helped a lot of people with their personal problems, for example with housing issues. I worked hard on the Manor Farm development when there were housing proposals for the site.”
Cllr Todd works in London as distribution manager for the Association of Conservative clubs.
He has two young children and said that life as a councillor was not easy, juggling a full-time job as well as looking after the children.
He said: “It is a shame but my wife and I are looking at moving out of the area, nearer to our relatives.
“I would consider becoming a councillor again but I think I am going to give it a break for a few years and wait until my children are a bit older.
“I have met some great people in my time as a councillor and worked on some interesting projects.
“I think councillors should be able to have more input regarding policies but maybe this will change with the single scrutiny committees.
“I wish my successor all the best in their work with the people of Byfleet.
