Volunteers are honoured
. With this in mind, the museum has honoured those who have given more than 15 or 20 years’ service to the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation. A total of 24 long service badges were presented by director Allan Winn at a ceremony held at the museum in Brooklands Road. Further presentations are planned to take place during 2006. Allan Winn said: “The Spirit of Brooklands would not survive or thrive without our volunteers, dozens of whom have been with us helping for a great many years. “This ceremony was a simple recognition of their efforts.” The long service awards were made possible by a donation from Kit Wallis, a long-standing volunteer at the museum, in memory of an old friend. Anyone wishing to join the volunteer army at Brooklands should contact Mike Duvall on 01932 857381, extension 248
