The children gathered in the centre’s atrium between Tesco and Marks and Spencer and sang a number of traditional and modern Christmas carols.
The manager of Tesco’s restaurant provided refreshments for visitors to enjoy during the event including sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee while ice cream was laid on for the children when they had finished their performance.
Barbara D’Avino, community fundraising manager for the Children’s Society, visited Brooklands to support the event.
One of the organisers, Peter Cuddon, said: “Everything went very well, it was superb.
“We were trying to raise awareness for the Children’s Society — not just money — and we managed to do that. It was a real team effort  supported by family, friends and businesses based in the area.”
A few weeks ago Peter and his wife held a collection at Blackbushe Sunday market and the funds raised at both events, totalling more than £1,100, will be presented to the Children’s Society
