Church is raising the roof

Hats off to the Church of the Good Shepherd supporters from Rev Nick Aiken

Extension work began last month and already the roof is going up on the new kitchen and parish/crèche room.
The rector, Reverend Nick Aiken, said: “Good progress is being made and the new building work is an exciting climax to what the congregation and community have asked for.
“The cost will be around £300,000 and already folk have supported us by giving an incredible £200,000 towards the cost. The facilities now available should be a significant improvement on those that have faithfully served the community for more than 40 years.
“The design of the extension is both dramatic and striking and reflects the architectural style of the present building. The plans and design are on display at the back of the building and anyone is welcome to come and look at them if they wish to do so.”
There is also a scale model made by a member of the parish, which shows the finished building.
