Manor School fair is a big hit
. Fiona Gray’s Lolly Lottery stall was popular at Byfleet’s Manor School fair and joining in the fun i Among the attractions were numerous stalls, including hook-a-duck, beat-the-goalie, henna tattoos and tin can alley, as well as a bouncy castle, slide and tombola. Firefighters from Painshill fire station were on hand with a fire engine for the children to explore and this proved a popular part of the afternoon’s events. Organiser Jo Walker said the ice cream stall where children could make their own cones was also a big draw. She said: “The turnout was very good and the weather certainly helped. “People seemed to have a lovely time. The children especially seemed to be having a great time. I feel very pleased at the success of the fair and I can now breathe a big sigh of relief.” Takings on the day were around £1,000 but the exact figure has not yet been calculated. All money raised will go to a fighting fund which has been set up to help the school which is currently the subject of a consultation about the possibility of closure by Surrey County Council
