Cricket cash joy for Byfleet

As a result the club has been able to construct a safe building in which to store equipment which had been kept in a couple of wooden sheds not big enough to accommodate some larger items.  Now all the equipment has been moved into a prefabricated garage, protected from the ravages of the elements.
County councillor Geoff Marlow brought the club’s plight to the committee’s attention.
Cllr Marlow said: “I am delighted to be able to help this historic club, which was founded in 1876.
“But the local committee only funded the garage — it was the club itself which funded and laid the concrete base it stands on.”
Club president Joe Buzaglo said: “The club does not have the funds for this sort of thing and it would have taken years for us to raise the necessary money.
