Ex-England footballer Andy Sinton visited New Haw Junior School last week to present an Eco Schools

The Activemark accreditation scheme recognises and awards schools for their commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity.
During his footballing career Andy Sinton played for Queen’s Park Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and for England.
The school’s PE co-ordinator Adam Gunn said: “Andy was fantastic. He talked to the children and did a bit of coaching with them as well.
“He spent the day with us and even said he may come back in the future.”
New Haw Junior School, in The Avenue, New Haw, achieved the award by demonstrating a broad and balanced physical education programme.
The school was able to demonstrate that it provided an environment that encouraged physical activity and taught the importance of staying active for life
