The money was presented to Chris Hickford, director of the New Haw Youth Project, at New Haw library on Thursday.
PCSO Woodhouse took part in last month’s Butlin’s Swimathon to raise money for the youth project and Macmillan Cancer Relief, which also received £125. He swam200 lengths in three hours and nine minutes.
“It was pretty hard work but I managed to complete it in just over three hours which was my goal,” said PCSO Woodhouse.
“By working with youth projects in the community, the police and other agencies can help to provide a safe environment for youngsters to meet up and learn new skills.” he said.
Chris Hickford said: “We are  delighted to accept this donation. Not only does Paul regularly visit us to chat to the young people, he also goes the extra mile like raising this money.
“The money is going to be used to help the youngsters set up their own website. We are also going to invite an artist to hold a workshop so the group can create its own branded logo which we can use on our letterhead and website.”
New Haw Youth Project is a scheme for youngsters aged 11 to 16. The group meets once a week at learning centre within New Haw library, Broadway, and offers a variety of activities  from an after school club and computer skills to anger management courses and a life changing work experience trip to Kenya.
