Diploma is icing on the cake

Alexander Kanias, of Knowle Gardens, West Byfleet, received a Tante Marie Diploma and a Maureen Walton Trophy for cake decoration.
The trophy is only presented in special circumstances and was awarded to Alexander in recognition of his excellent skills, aptitude and creativity.
Alexander, 21, has been studying at Woking’s Tante Marie School of Cookery for one year and was one of more than 20 pupils to graduate with the Cordon Bleu Diploma.
The pupils achieved a range of skills to meet the standard syllabus requirements of cookery. This included displaying excellent food presentation and the highest professional standards, which Alexander attained with flying colours.
Alexander hopes to use his grounding to embark on a career as a top-class cook. He is planning to travel the world cooking on luxury yachts and working in the best restaurants
