Top lollipop

They kept the competition a surprise from Dave Collyer and he only found out when he was presented with a certificate for honourable runner up in a school assembly.
Even headteacher Mary Rolfe played along with the secret and pretended the assembly was about road safety week. When Dave arrived he was met with applause and presented with his prize.
Pupils in class 3P made a booklet and wrote a poem about Dave to submit to the competition judges.
Dave said: “I was shocked to say the least. I am not usually lost for words but I was on that occasion. It was a lovely gesture and it’s nice to think they had done something like that for me — It makes my job all the more worthwhile.
