Carmelo Lobue

THE body of 81-year-old Carmelo Lobue has been found in New Haw, more than two months after he was reported missing.

Mr Lobue, of Bourneside Road in Addlestone, was last seen on Friday October 26. His disappearance sparked a huge hunt across the area.

Police dogs, a helicopter and water search teams were all deployed and posters appealing for information were displayed throughout Addlestone.

There were fears for his safety due to a medical condition, which meant he was on medication that he did not have with him.

The pensioner’s body was discovered near a stream at Crockford Park Farm in New Haw, close to his home, on New Year’s Day.

DS Emma Hampson from Surrey Police said: “This is a very distressing time for the family and our thoughts are with them.”
