THE tables were turned on Star editor Joanne Jones last Thursday, when she was interviewed by not one but dozens of young reporters.
Year 3 pupils at Yateley Manor school posed a host of questions about the newspaper and what it’s like to be a journalist and editor.
Two panels of four reporters took turns to ask prepared questions submitted by their classmates.
The topics ranged from how someone can become a journalist to where the news comes from – and whether the editor ever got got nervous when doing her job!
The practical side of newspaper production was explored, along with a look at the types of stories covered by the paper, including the most exciting and most difficult.
Joanne’s visit coincided with the Year 3 project on newspapers, during which the pupils will be creating their own publications featuring news and interviews as well as illustrations and advertisements
